Reviews of the Savannah Walking Tour & Guidebook by Paul Bland (hard copy only)

DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!
"This tour book of Savannah is a must-have if you are planning to do a self-guided walking tour. Wow! We walked all five mini-tours which was an easy walk.  The book tells you how far it is and how long it will take and you can plan accordingly. It has pictures as well as descriptions so you are able to find the places better. It explains the squares and makes everything real and interesting. It was great to move at our own leisure and learn along the way. We had taken the trolley tour first, and still found this informative and fun. This is the best walking tour book we have owned. And Amazon has it for $5.95! Very affordable. Highly recommended. I wish the author would write one for Charleston. The one we had from there was not as easy to understand and had no pictures of buildings nor gave us any idea whatsoever how far it was or how long each tour would take."

WORTH THE MONEY
"This is a easy way for you to walk around and learn about savannah without spending all the money on other tours.  The best thing is at the end of the book there's a big map of all the tours this book has so you can go at your on pace.  Put it simply, you could spend 20 to 30 dollars per person on the guide tours or spend money on this and receive the same information they do and take your time looking at Savannah."

IF YOU WANT TO WALK AROUND THE HISTORIC DISTRICT --- BUY IT!
"I was only in Savannah for a day and I used this guide the entire time. Yea - you can get little maps from the Trolley or Bus Tour companies for free-but what I found is that they didn't always have the exact locations of where certain famous houses, museums, statues are....they just have their pick up locations listed.  This book has pictures of the sights, as well as where they are located in the squares/streets. It is about 20 pages of full color pictures and maps. There is also brief descriptions about the top historical sites (homes) of interest-- which is great for when you get back and look at your 400 pictures and try to remember what house is what!  If you want to wonder around in the Historic District for a few days, and not carry around a heavy travel book -I would purchase this one!"

GREAT!  A RECOMMENDED SAVANNAH BOOK
"In this book, Mr. Bland demystifies Savannah's rich history while managing to deepen our romance with the its past. Written both to inform and illustrate Savanna's bounty, he also infuses humor with a sense of mystery. Hear your own voice echo back to you on the river front square while trusting the author's ice cream temptation across the cobblestones! Whether you simply want to take a virtual journey to Savannah or you will actually walk the oak-shaded streets, be certain to follow in the author's footsteps!"

INFORMATIVE WITHOUT BEING OVERWHELMING
"If you are visiting Savannah, I definitely recommend using this as your guide to the historic downtown area of Savannah. The book is very informative without overwhelming you with too much information that you cannot comprehend it all. I live in Savannah and I keep this book in my Guest Room. When I have visitors stay with us, they always comment on the book and want to use it while they are visiting the downtown area! The price is great and the pictures are beautiful!"

GREAT TOURS AND INFORMATION
"Excellent book for historic photographs of popular sites in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. The interesting facts and history combined with the easy to read walking tour maps make this book a must have while visiting or living in Savannah. Great value for the price!"
